The ICI-THROUGH project will create a sustainable innovation platform of intersectoral collaboration between two academic and two industrial  European participants to exchange knowledge on the development of non-invasive techniques to estimate human brown adipose tissue activity. They have participated in previous knowledge transfer programmes funded by the European Union.

Our consortium is composed of two academic: University of Thessaly (UTH) and University of Porto (UOP) and two industrial:
Imedica SA (IMED) and Center of Technology Research and Innovation Ltd. (CETRI), complementary entities with adequate technical and management abilities for the successful implementation of this project. The four ICI-THROUGH participants are experts in brown adipose tissue biology, medical imaging, human physiology and hardware/software development.

Athens Science Festival 2017

The FAME Laboratory from the School of Exercise Science - University of Thessaly participated in the MEDinART exhibition of the Athens Science Festival 2017. In the framework of the ICI-THROUGH study, we have been specializing in thermal camera measurements. We realized that the result was very interesting but also very impressive. The exhibion of MEDinART of the Athens Science Festival 2017 was a great chance to share this part of work and knowledge through an interactive art event that visualizes the changes in human body temperature using Thermal imaging Technology. During the festival, there were exhibited a wide range of photos of human body temperature changes during several daily activities.
